Our projects

Nanogel-based medical treatments

Our company conducts research and development activities in collaboration with:

  • Tadeusz Kościuszko Cracow University of Technology

  • Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology, Jagiellonian University

Our focus is on both fundamental research and the industrial scale-up of scientific findings, particularly in the areas of:

  • Development of psoriasis treatments

  • Formulation of medical products using nano-gels and plant-derived stem cells for the treatment of various skin conditions

In March 2019, we received a grant of PLN 4 752 905,86 from Małopolska Centre for Entrepreneurship (MCP Sp. z o.o.) for the project:
"Development of a line of medical products based on nano-gels with properties ranging from skin care to therapeutic, aimed at soothing inflammatory skin conditions."

Currently, we employ a team of five specialists, including formulation technologists and a project coordinator.

Project description:

The goal of this proposed project is to respond to growing market demand by developing a line of medical-grade products based on an innovative nano-gel technology designed to soothe inflammatory skin conditions, including psoriasis. Psoriasis is a relatively common and chronic inflammatory skin disease that affects nearly 25% of the global population.

As part of the industrial research phase, we will develop and stabilize six distinct formulations:

  • Gel

  • Balm

  • Cream

  • Skin solution

  • Mask

  • Serum

Each will be designed to support psoriasis remission and contain a therapeutically active compound.

In parallel, in vitro experiments will be conducted using established cell lines to confirm the active ingredient’s effect in alleviating psoriasis symptoms. This will be followed by cytotoxicity and genotoxicity testing, as well as evaluations of potential irritant and allergenic effects.

Subsequently, we will transition from lab-scale to pilot-scale production, developing a formulation scale-up procedure and constructing a prototype production line. Initial product batches will be manufactured for extended testing.

As part of the development phase, we will conduct dermatological testing on patients diagnosed with psoriasis, alongside specialist laboratory analyses performed at an accredited testing center, as required for medical device registration.

In parallel, regulatory documentation will be prepared to enable submission to the Polish Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products (URPL) for formal medical device classification.

Confirmed collaborators on the project include:

  • The Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology at Cracow University of Technology

  • The Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology at Jagiellonian University

On the WellNanoPharm side, the project is led by a team of experienced formulation technologists.

This initiative will directly support job creation, the establishment of an innovative production line, and will enhance the company’s competitiveness by introducing a globally novel line of therapeutic products to the market.

We invite you to view a presentation outlining the full scope of this project.
